Representatives from the ICT Department of Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) have today conducted a working visit to IT Protective Security Services Sdn Bhd (ITPSS) in Jalan Perusahaan Beribi. The visitors comprised of officers from DBKL, and were led by Hj Jaafar Hj Abd Rahman, Director of DBKL’s ICT Department and Puan Rozila bt. Megat Othman, Principal Assistant Secretary of Ministry of Federal Territory and Urban Wellbeing. The purpose of the visit was to exchange information on ICT in Brunei and Malaysia in general and Information Security in particular.
Present to welcome the delegation was Shamsul Bahri Haji Kamis, Chief Executive Officer of ITPSS Sdn Bhd. The visit began with a presentation on the establishment and history of ITPSS, followed by an introduction to the range of IT security services offered, and of ITPSS’ pivotal role as Brunei National Computer Emergency Response Team (BruCERT). It was learnt that in Malaysia the role of a Government CERT is taken by MAMPU of the Prime Minister’s Office. It was suggested by the DBKL Officers that ITPSS/BruCERT forges a working relationship with MAMPU on CERT-related matters and activities; of which DBKL is glad to facilitate. ITPSS is intending to pursue this potential collaboration in the near future.
