IT Protective Security Services Sdn Bhd (ITPSS) today held a talk on IT Security Awareness for the staff of The Authority for Info-Communications Technology Industry (AITI).
The briefing, held at AITI’s premises, was aimed at addressing security issues faced in a corporate environment and to encourage the enforcement of a corporate IT security policy. It was facilitated by ITPSS’s Digital Forensic Analyst, Mohamad Azad Zaki Haji Mohd Tahir, and Senior Security Analyst, Haji Mas Zuraime Haji Abdul Hamid.
The briefing began with an introduction to Information Security. Attendees were also advised on proper password management and briefed on the dangers of social engineering, email threats and social networking. The highlight of the briefing was the significance of the Brunei Computer Misuse Act 2000, and how it can influence the structure and enforcement of an organization’s security policies.
