Education campaign contributors feted

The Ministry of Education (MoE) held an appreciation ceremony for contributors of the Device Donation Campaign at the MoE building yesterday.

The campaign was an initiative by the MoE to help underprivileged students cope with their online learning needs during school closure due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

A total of 1,106 devices and 489 sim cards were received throughout the campaign.

The contributors were from Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Insurans Islam TAIB Holdings Sdn Bhd, Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd, Baiduri Bank, Brunei Methanol Company Sdn Bhd, Huawei Technologies Sdn Bhd, Komputer Wisman Sdn Bhd, SC Tubular Solutions (B) Sdn Bhd, IT Protective Security Services (ITPSS) Sdn Bhd, Zahara Charity Foundation, 17th EDPSGO Course Participants Alumni Kali Ke-17, Brunei Darussalam National Accreditation Council, CfBT Education Services and SEAMEO Voctech Regional Centre.

Meanwhile, the MoE also received 15,773GB of data worth BND47,318 from the Donate Data: Progresif for Schools Campaign. imagine Sdn Bhd contributed over 25,000GB of data worth BND36,529 from its Donate Data Campaign: imagine’s A-Dollar-A-Cheer.

Minister of Education Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman was the guest of honour.

Deputy Minister of Education Datin Seri Paduka Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh also attended.
